cont..

Ann is drawn to images that can enhance the physicality of the Lino cutting process, allowing the material to register its own marks. Recently she has been developing a series titled ‘Firstborn’ where parents present their new offspring to the camera. She is interested in these captured moments of hope, love, expectation, fear and how she can translate these through simple lines of the printing process.

Ann’s influences come a variety of sources; Japanese woodblock printing, Kawaii, Manga, German Expressionism, children’s book Illustration from the 1960’s/70’s, family and pets.
